  1. Could you please consider resuming daily updates? I understand the decision to switch to weekly when it looked like cases had hit a floor, but the Delta wave has come a bit quicker than many anticipated - and will likely burn through more quickly (as we saw in India and UK). It would be good to have a more granular look at the data. Thanks!

    1. I've thought about it, but at this current point probably not:

      1) The case level, although rising, still isn't terribly high by most standards. We were averaging ~500 daily new cases last summer.

      2) Daily deaths have remained quite low (probably due to vaccinations)

      3) DC doesn't publish daily numbers for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

Major changes to 1) or 2) would probably cause me to reconsider. But I'm, generally speaking, vaxxed and relaxed.

For what it's worth, my charts still have the daily increase (with the exception of DC for Fri-Sat-Sun, which are imputed). The variation and jumps within a given week are less consequential, in my opinion, than the week's trend itself.

    2. Makes sense, thanks. Let's hope 1) and 2) hold.
