Lack of Updates

Maryland has been suffering from a server error for the past two weeks (interestingly enough, the result of a cyberattack), and thus I haven't been able to receive their data updates. In turn, I have been unable to do my weekly updates.

At least for the month of December 2021, I may suspend the weekly updates, and instead focus on a monthly update. This presumes that the server error is fixed by then, but we'll see.

    Will be interesting to find out why this happened and if MD needs to pay a ransom.

August 26th Data Update

This post updates COVID-19 confirmed case data for the DC Metropolitan area as of August 26th 2020. The total confirmed cases in the DC area rose by 412 to   108,305  from  the previous total of 107,893 , an approximate <1% increase. Fatalities rose by 8 to  3,512  from  the previous total of 3,504 , an approximate <1% increase. April 26th Data Update

This post updates COVID-19 confirmed case data for the DC Metropolitan area as of April 26th 2020. The total confirmed cases in the DC area rose by 813 to  20,311  from  the previous total of 19,498 , an approximate 4% increase. The doubling time (3-day moving average) for cases in the DC area is approximately 12.9 days.  Fatalities rose by 27 to 802  from  the previous total of 775 , an approximate 3% increase. The doubling time (3-day moving average) for fatalities in the DC area is approximately 12.4 days. Note: At the repeated request of one of my long-time readers, I have added charts showing the daily increases in new cases and fatalities, as well as the cumulative figures which I have been using up to this point.
