January 9th Data Update

This post updates COVID-19 confirmed case data for the DC Metropolitan area as of January 9th 2021. The total confirmed cases in the DC area rose by 3,307 to 274,752 from the previous total of 271,445, an increase of approximately 1%. Fatalities rose by 24 to 4,925 from the previous total of 4,901.

3,307 new cases is a new record high (in absolute terms), eclipsing the previous high of 3,087 from 6 January 2021.
