April 25th Data Update

This post updates COVID-19 confirmed case data for the DC Metropolitan area as of April 25th 2020. The total confirmed cases in the DC area rose by 1,272 to 19,498 from the previous total of 18,266, an approximate 7% increase. The doubling time (3-day moving average) for cases in the DC area is approximately 11.2 days.

This is now the third straight day of a notable increase in the total amount of new cases, and it has become abundantly clear that the DC region did not probably hit a peak earlier in April, as a previous blog post of mine suggested. I will be working on a follow-up post to that later today.

Fatalities rose by 65 to 775 from the previous total of 710, an approximate 9% increase. The doubling time (3-day moving average) for fatalities in the DC area is approximately 7.9 days.
