April 2nd Data Update

This post updates COVID-19 confirmed case data for the DC Metropolitan area as of April 2nd 2021The total confirmed cases in the DC area rose by 904 t389,432 from the previous total of 388,528. Fatalities rose by 3 to 6,648 from the previous total of 6,645.

Note: Due to a tabulation error on my part involving DC's daily data report, I initially miscalculated the daily growth of both cases and fatalities. I have updated the numbers and charts for this report and the 3 April daily report to reflect the correct numbers.

The correct data for 2 April is 44,932 cases in the District of Columbia (as opposed to 44,807 as initially reported). Thus the regional total was 389,432 (as opposed to 389,307 as initially reported) and the regional increase was 904 (as opposed to 779 as initially reported). For fatalities,  there were 1,070 in the District of Columbia (as opposed to 1,069 as initially reported). Thus the regional total was 6,648 (as opposed to 6,647 as reported), and the regional increase was 3 (as opposed to 2 as initially reported).
