March 28th Data Update
This post updates COVID-19 confirmed case data for the DC Metropolitan area as of March 28th 2021. The total confirmed cases in the DC area rose by 891 to 385,009 from the previous total of 384,118. Fatalities rose by 5 to 6,611 from the previous total of 6,606.
On a slightly different note, this report marks the one-year anniversary of my first daily update. The report was for March 28th 2020; the *total* cumulative cases for the region that day (i.e. dating back to the start of the outbreak) was 1,201; by comparison the *daily* new-case count increase for 26 March 2021, just a few days ago, was 1,301.
I can't say that I envisioned that I would be recording the numbers for a year's time, but nonetheless here we find ourselves. I sincerely hope to be able to continue these updates until the pandemic subsides in our area. Who knows when that will be. If there's anything that this blog has made me more aware of, it's the importance of not letting a particular good (or bad) day/week/month get you too high (or low) with respect to how things are going.
