May 11th Data Update
This post updates COVID-19 confirmed case data for the DC Metropolitan area as of May 11th 2020. The total confirmed cases in the DC area rose by 1,177 to 38,752 from the previous total of 37,575, an approximate 3% increase. The doubling time (3-day moving average) for cases in the DC area is approximately 20.7 days.
Fatalities rose by 29 to 1,639 from the previous total of 1,610, an approximate 2% increase. The doubling time (3-day moving average) for fatalities in the DC area is approximately 31.0 days.
Notably, there has been a general decrease in the amount of new fatalities since early May.
