June 10th Data Update

This post updates COVID-19 confirmed case data for the DC Metropolitan area as of June 10th 2021The total confirmed cases in the DC area rose by 96 t420,396 from the previous total of 420,300. Fatalities rose by 5 t7,251 from the previous total of 7,246.

The daily new case count for the each day of the past week has been under 100. The last time this occurred in the DC area was in mid-late March 2020 (18-24 March), at the very onset of the pandemic.

  1. Those cumulative curves are really starting to flatten out, especially for the new cases.

    1. Given the scale of the y-axis, and the daily increases, I doubt you'll see it move much anymore. Truthfully, growth in the region is fast closing to nothing.

      I haven't talked about this yet, but Arlington, Alexandria, and Fairfax have all been oscillating around zero for the past 1-2 weeks. It's gotten to the point where routine downward revision (probably due to false positives) are as high, or higher, than confirmed new cases in those jurisdictions. Statistically, those three jurisdictions are pretty much in the "noise" category at this point. Loudoun is not far behind.
