This post updates COVID-19 confirmed case data for the DC Metropolitan area as of December 30th 2020 . The total confirmed cases in the DC area rose by 2,246 to  248,953  from  the previous total of 246,707 , an increase of approximately 1%. Fatalities rose by 42 to  4,710  from  the previous total of 4,668 , an increase of approximately 1%. This is the largest increase in daily total fatalities since 3 June 2020 (44) . The total confirmed cases in the DC area rose by 4,132* to  240,757**  from  the previous total of 236,625 , an average daily increase of 2,066. Fatalities rose by 41* to  4,608**  from  the previous total of 4,567 , an average daily increase of 20.5. * Increase reflects two-day total.  Per DC Health's website on the morning of 25 December 2020: " Out of respect for the health professionals who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic, DC Health will not report data on Christmas Day, December 25, to allow these health professionals to rest this holiday. The data report sent on Saturday, December 26, will include numbers from December 24. The data report sent on Sunday, December 27, will include numbers from December 25 and 26." Hence, I will publish the relevance updates in accordance with this data release schedule.
